Cl
Claude, explained simply
Claude is Anthropic's chat assistant. You paste text in and copy a draft, a file, or a summary out.
What it is best at
Long documents
The pricing page says Claude can create files and run code, and Pro adds projects.
Everyday writing
Free covers chat on the web, desktop, and mobile. Pro adds more usage.
Microsoft 365
Pro includes Claude in Chrome and Microsoft 365. That is a paid extra, not the free chat.
Who uses it
Anthropic describes Free as trying Claude, Pro as everyday work, and Max as people who work with Claude all day. They do not publish who the users are.
Key features
Chat and files
Free includes chat, web search, file creation, code, memory, and Artifacts.
Projects
Free includes up to 5 projects. Pro removes that cap, on the comparison table.
Connectors
Connectors are listed on Free and paid plans. A recipe that is paste-only tells you to leave them off.
Voice
Voice mode is listed on Free, Pro, and Max.
